My daughter Kate and I went to the Food and Words Festival at the Mint in Macquarie Street. It was put on by www.cookbookclub.co and I loved it.

My favourite speakers were- Charlotte Wood reading a captivating piece she wrote on oysters. Belinda Jeffrey speaking on the Zen of Baking. Marie Claire author, Michele Cranston’s presentation on Light. Gay Bilson speaking on issues important to her- loosely based on the question- How Much Food Does a Man Need? Dear old Mungo MacCallum waffling on about picnics. Chef Alex Herbert and associate publisher Catherine Milne from Harper Collins chatting about what goes into creating a cook book.

It was a totally enjoyable day. Food and words- what a wonderful combination.
